Mythics was honored to be included in the Capital Exchange Series sponsored by WTOP, Federal News Radio, and FedInsider. Tom Temin—host of the popular “Federal Drive” radio show led a roundtable discussion focused on “Planning for the Cloud”. I participated along with Mark Johnson, Enterprise Cloud Strategy Vice President. From this discussion, Tom created a new exclusive executive briefing published this month by Federal News Radio, “Cloud Computing Strategies Mature in the Federal Government”.
The briefing document highlights the federal cloud situation as discussed by the panel of cloud computing executives. Cloud services play an important role in the IT strategy of the majority of federal agencies, with several approaches available to each agency.
Important highlights include:
One theme of the discussion was around custom application development cycles, DevOps, and agile. The topic involved progressing along the deployment pipeline – from Shared Development environments to Integration Test to UAT before moving to Staging or Production – in a more flexible and easier fashion with cloud. Simplifying the infrastructure preparations with cloud is the desired outcome.
I would like to thank Federal News Radio, WTOP, and FedInsider for hosting this event and for creating the cloud executive briefing.
