Uniquely designed for higher education through the Internet2 cloud services program

Having the right technology environment is central to the research and education community’s ability to support its educational, research and community service missions. Cloud services have an integral role in supporting the unique needs of this collaborative community. As an Internet2 member, Oracle has been contributing to this collaborative environment and has been working with a large cross-section of the research and education community to ensure that the Oracle Cloud Offering meets campus challenges to benefit all member institutions’ teaching, learning, and research needs.

The Internet2 Oracle Cloud Services offering by Mythics is an extension of that commitment to ensure that campus challenges are met and that the benefits extend to the research and education community. This offering allows Internet2 members, InCommon participants, and connected higher education institution via US regional networks access to Oracle Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Oracle Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) with the following differentiated features:

  • Enhanced Network Peering: Multi-site peering between Oracle Cloud edge network and the Internet2 network, providing members with capabilities for direct data transfer to/from Oracle’s PaaS and IaaS Data Centers. Data transfer & access at no additional cost to
    community members
  • Discounted Internet2 Community Pricing: Delivers savings in procurement efficiency and in the costs for Oracle Cloud Services
  • InCommon-federated Portal: Single easy to use interface to order and manage Oracle Cloud Services subscriptions and billings
  • Oracle Cloud Experts: Cloud solution architects, engineers and consulting team to help design and deliver cloud solutions that meet your unique requirements

This offer is a provisional service, meaning that while this initial offering is leveraging standard Oracle Public Sector terms, Internet2, Mythics, and Oracle will be working together with the community to develop a community-validated set of terms and conditions.
