Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 11g is the most significant release of OBIEE since 2006. In addition to a vastly improved user interface and greatly improved analytics capabilities, Oracle Business Intelligence is now more integrated with the Oracle Fusion Middleware software family. OBIEE 11g utilizes Oracle WebLogic Server and replaces Oracle Application Server and Oracle Containers for Java (OC4J). Perhaps the most important benefit of 11g OBIEE are the huge improvements in visualization features, including:

  • An updated user interface that combines all the reporting tools
  • New capabilities in Oracle Answers
  • Integration with Oracle MapViewer for improved GIS integration
  • Updated dashboard, catalog, search and home page
  • New KPI and scorecard features
  • An updated version of BI Publisher

The migration to OBIEE 11g also prepares your environment for Oracle Exalytics, which can provide profound performance improvements in all aspects of your analytics environment. The Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine is the industry’s first in-memory BI machine that delivers the fastest performance for business intelligence and planning applications.  Learn more about Oracle Exalytics.
