Oracle Database 19c includes many new features and enhancements, as well as a long-term support commitment from Oracle. Moving to Oracle Database 19c may be part of an effort that includes moving to newly purchased engineered systems, migrating to a modern storage architecture, or migrating to a completely different operating system.
Increasingly, upgrading to a new version of Oracle Database may also include migrating to the Cloud.
In this month’s session, Erik will review the database product lifecycle and then look at the many ways to upgrade to 19c. He will cover upgrades from 11g, 12.1, 122 and 18c, as well as cross platform upgrades that involve migrating between bug and little endian as well as changing the operating systems. Migration methods will be explored for both an in place upgrades and migration to a new platform.
